Poem for english?

i need to write a poem for my english class and i have noo idea what to write about. how does this sound?
love is a rainbow
big, beautiful, and bright
always there after it rains
love is always there after troubles

does that even sound like a poem?

It's a good beginning. What about continuing naming colours and what they mean to you. e.g.: blue - the colour of harmony; green, the colour of myriad trees; yellow - brilliant like the sun; red, the colour of passion

and so on.
