Don't think that you're doing it for other people--do it for yourself! That's the main thing!. Some other tips:

--Sit and think for fifteen minutes before you start writing!. Write it in your head first (or imagine it like a movie screen)!.
--If you don't know how to start, don't worry about it! You don't have to write the beginning first!. Chances are, it's going to be changed later anyway!.
--Try reading a book similar in idea/writing style/genre/etc prior to writing!. I always want to write when I read a book that inspired me to write in the first place!.
--Write a character, plot, setting, or backstory sketch!. It may not seem like you're writing your story, but the sketches will help you help you develop the components of the story and may make you want to write the actual idea!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I suffer the same dilemma from time to time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To fix the laziness, no one can teach you to get over it but you!. Serious writers write everyday, inspired or not!. It is a habit like any job!.

The fear of no one reading it: you just have to get comfortable with the fact that no one may read it!. Don't write for others, write for you!.

My last tip (originally Amy Tan's) find a reason to write that will carry you through the best and worst of times!. For me it is how I face my fears!. For others it might be to figure something out or explore an idea!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Just tell yourself that your characters and your story is good, that even if nobody ever reads it, you can find joy in it yourself!. And if you do ever write and want someone to read it, feel free to email me at soccerchick010795@yahoo!.com, I'd be happy to!.

Good luck writing!Www@QuestionHome@Com
