Question: Too Cliche!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!?
I'm just wondering whether I should include this in a story!.
a!. Would it be too cliche if the main character's parent's both died unexpectedly at the start of the book!?
b!. Or to have one of the parent's already dead and then the remaining parent dies at the start of the book!.!?
I don't actually know what the book is even going to be about, I'm just wondering what your theories are on my question!.
I suppose it depends on the theme of the book etc!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

a!. Depends on how they die, it could be good for developing the character(Of the kid, not the parents lulz), for example, in Batman, not a book but shhh, with Bruce Wayne!.
b!. If it's unexpected not really, if it's from a sickness or something then yes!. Depends on how the first parent died too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
A!. Er!.!.!.probably!.
B!. Yes!.
I really think the 'orphaned child, oh no!' thing has been overdone!. Unless being an orphan is central and absolutely critical to the plotline, it's unnecessary fluff that the author uses to evoke sympathy for the main character!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
It depends on how the parents die!. Was it a bad time for them to die!? Did the protagonist like/ hate them!? Any kids!? It all depends on what kind of book you want to write!. Maybe the kid ran away because they died!? You should make that, yeee!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
if they die in a original way its okay!.!.!. just don't kill them with a car accident of something like that because its too typicalWww@QuestionHome@Com
Maybe the parents should die of a car wreak together!. Or they are out to dinner and there was a shootingWww@QuestionHome@Com
No!. As long as you don't center the story around it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
