I've just had a complete and total mind blank and it's killing me!! There is a series of 3 books, and a related book!. (like the lord of the rings trilogy and the hobbit!.) it's light-hearted, comical sci-fi series, that is very popular!.!.!. one of the books was made into a movie a few years ago!. basically, there is a guy in britain trying to save his house from being demolished so a freeway can go through, when he's kidnapped by an alien!. the alien is trying to save earth because it is going to be demolished to allow a shipping lane to go through!. at the beginning of the book there is a blue whale falling through the air!. the dolphins are all leaving the planet before it gets destroyed!. and it turns out that mice are the smartest creatures in the universe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
