Question: Does the fact that he wrote it all with a quill make Shakespeare's work even more impressive!?

To me, it does, but I'm sure he would have used a WP system if he had one!. Can you imagine writing entire plays that way, and with limited indoor lighting, too!?

Then again, I just read an interview with Nelson DeMille in the NY Times a few weeks ago, and I was shocked to find he writes all his novels on a yellow legal pad with a pencil!. He has someone transcribe it for him!. At this point, he can afford that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!. I'm sure shopping lists were written with a quill in those days too!. They don't have more literary merit just because they were written with a quill!.

Mark Twain was one of the first writers to use a typewriter, but that doesn't make his work less than, say, Jane Austen's, who used a dip pen!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A lot of other men wrote stuff with quills and it's quite as impressive as Shakespeare's works!. I'm not trying to play down Shakespeare; I love reading his plays!. It's just that there are other men who wrote some amazing stuff with quills, too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

His literary brilliance amazes me more than anything else -- though the quill counts for something too (specially seeing how we're used to wordprocessors these days)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
