The library sent notices, phoned, and sent the police to her home!. They then pressed charges for theft! She had to post $250!.00 in bail money to be released!. It's beyond me!. take care daveWww@QuestionHome@Com Sounds justified to me!. I read a different article, and they called four times, and sent four letters!. She got three of the letters but wouldn't sign for the fourth!. Then they sent a police officer and waited a month!. It isn't like they called once or sent one letter, they even gave her a month after sending a police officer to her home to pay the fine!. I don't see how stealing a library book is any different than stealing something from a store!. A better analogy might be stealing from a park or a school!. For me, stealing from a library would be like stealing from a church!. Unacceptable!.Www@QuestionHome@Com My old library were very passive about my alleged theft from them!. I was a regular at my library until I was about 14!. I went back when I was 18, to renew my membership, and they told me I had ￡90 fine to pay!. I asked what for, and they gave me a list with all my last borrowed books on it, even though I returned them all!.!.!. They thought I was lying when I said I gave them all back!.
