Ways to kill oneself?

Question: Ways to kill oneself!?

I'm working on a story in which a young woman thinks about suicide!. At this point in the story she recalls all the mental abuse that was inflicted on her in the past!. I just need a few ideas is all, no big deal!.

But, I need help on what she might do!. Overdose!? Drowning!?

A believable version would come of going to an extreme of something daily, or something that most wouldnt do!.!.like step in front of a truck!. I mean, we all have stood at the side of the street waiting to cross with both parents and everyone else saying to look both ways!.!.it's sort of dramatic to consider when writing someone's comtemplation of suicide!. It gives you as author to pick place, and allows you to dive into her thinking!. also it's a little creepy because there are so many times the character could actually take the moment to step out, or go back to thinking!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

One of the better suicide scenes I've read was in Kate Chopin's The Awakening, where in the end her female character just walks into the sea!. People debate whether she did that as a way to liberate herself - or giving into defeat!. She didn't go into detail about what happened!.!.!.just described her charactering walking into the water!.

Of course - now it's been used!. But you could always think of something symbolic along those lines!.

Overdose, drowning, gun shot are all very well over used!. Unless your character takes the Ernest Hemingway out and shoot herself with a rifle!. That took skill for Hemingway to do!.

Or she locks herself away in her room - cutting off all ties with people - and writes madly away in her diary about the mental abuse to the point where she later dies of "natural causes" but of course these causes were brought about her insanity to lock herself in the room for so long!. Thus, she dies naturally but at the same time it's kind of like suicide!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I know of a ghost story in which a guy goes to a minimum security prison in which the prisoners can leave during the day!.
He decides he is going to kill himself some night!. He thinks about it, and he thinks about hanging himself!.
He decides no, because even though he's planning to kill himself, he 'still prides himself in his looks', and he doesn't want to be found strangled, hanging by his neck, with his tongue hanging out!.
He narrows it down to 2 choices; he either drowns himself in a pond, or he waits for a train!. He has a lot of trouble deciding, but he eventually goes with the train!. He likes the idea of the train better not only because he was interested in railways, but also because it would be faster and less panicking than drowning!.
So one night, he goes out into the fog, and he waits for a train that always comes at a certain time!. He looks at his watch, and he can hear the train whistling in the distance!.
He takes the cloth he brought, places it on the rail to give his head something comfortable to rest on, and he places his head down and waits!. He can hear the train coming closer!.
He feels no panic!. He can tell the train is getting closer!. The ground is rumbling!. The whistle is loud!. The train is no further than 20 metres away!.
Suddenly, in the darkness, in a sort of an anti-ecstacy moment, he sees something, half in his mind, half in his eyes!. It was this horrible, demonic, ugly creature!. He is terrified, and he leaps off the rail just in time for the train to go by!.
He wonders what he saw, if it was some sort of a new rodent to the country!. He eventually decides against killing himself; he believes that when he got that close to suicide, he saw an actual image of Hell itself!.

I believe in nonviolence so, suicide is not the answer to any problems of life, even for the story purpose!. But fasting to the death is best way because it will give time to re-think, repent past sin, forgive others and ask for the forgiveness and the test of once will power to end life!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

what ever your choice is, it should be creative and memorable
here's my best shot
like lighting her house on fire and burning away with it
Maybe tying a heavy amount of weight to her foot and pushing the weight of the edge and falling with it
Maybe she'll decide to do things she never would normally do like walking on high up areas (trying to get as far as possible before dying) until she falls
or maybe drives as fast as possible into gasoline tank

This isn't strictly about the suicide, but afterwards!. Suicides aren't all pretty like the movies!. Some seriously disfigure the deceased!. Carbon Monoxide poisoning sounds nifty but it causes the body to bloat up grossly!. Obviously guns and a good hanging will stretch a neck feet if the vertebrate snap!.
