Like Arthur Miller (and he was married to Marilyn Monroe)! Just kidding!. Actually, I never picture an ideal author!. I just think about the specific author that wrote the book!. If I don't know how he/she looks like, I imagine them all differently according to the types of book they wrote, the time period they came from, and the stories I've heard about them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I picture an middle aged woman who wears outdated clothes and doesn't brush her hair very well, eats a lot of junk food, doesn't clean up after herself, stays up at night and sleeps during the day, and lives in a hotel room in the middle of nowhere with a cat!. This picture is mostly due to the fact that I met a woman like this at an impressionable age!. Funny thing is, I'm an aspiring author who is half finished with a book and I don't fit my vision!. I am a teen girl who goes to school and leads an ordinary life!. I do fit the shy and not very organized stereotype, though!. PS> I hate coffee!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My stereotypical author!.!.!.a woman in her mid thirties, with light brown chin-length hair, a pen behind one ear, wearing casual clothes and thick-rimmed glasses, sitting in front of a laptop in a small messy room, typing away with a cup of coffee by her side!.

That will totally be me in twenty-some years!. Minus the coffee!. I dislike coffee!.

There's no such thing as a stereotypical author, any more than there is a stereotypical reader!. Authors come in all shapes, sizes and colors!. As do readers!. I'm an author, don't have highly magnified specs and don't drink a lot of coffee!. But my publisher doesn't seem to mind - he just keeps selling my books anyway!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I picture someone with glasses, messy hair- unshaved (for a guy), messy make up for a woman!.!.!. drinking coffee, or stopping for tea, doing drugs often, or smoking a cigarette to clear their minds!. I'm not sure, I'm picturing them during the writing process, not while they're going out!.!.!. or anything!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I imagine an author as a woman sitting at a desk or table!. Her laptop in is front of her, her hair is in a bun, and her glasses are on!. There are bags under her eyes!. And of course, she is sipping her coffee while reading the last couple of paragraphs she wrote!.
I wish that was me haha!. :]Www@QuestionHome@Com
