Try some of these story-creating techniques!.

Combine 2 news story headlines - maybe 2 things happened to 1 person - maybe 1 person is responsible for 2 events - try combining the wording so that 2 headlines become 1!.

Come up with a cover title/design!. "Balance of Night" with a cover of a strange building, and a tiny silhouette of a person floating out of one of the windows!. THEN come up with the story that explains the cover's title and design!.

Create a character, without thinking about a story!. Figure out his whole life, his biggest fear, his aspirations, then figure out what would mess his life up worse than anything (aside from death)!. Come up with a few things, until you get a really unique one!. The story will grow from the character - maybe the character is good and maybe he's bad - or maybe he's not even in the story, but a story comes from something he does!.

Come up with a list of 10 random nouns - then think of a memory (real memory or fake memory) for each one!. Choose one memory and elaborate on it!. Then choose another and try to combine it with the first!.

I use the intuition, your muse!. Just ask it and it will give you ideas or you have to work at it to get it working, else you will always have problems!. Reading something on emotional intelligence and dropping negative words tend to hook us up with the right brain, intuition, creativity, the imagination, whole brain thinking, not to mention love and compassion!. All feelings have thoughts behind them!. Get at the thoughts!. Then go to the feelings and they are redefined!. Then you can go back to see other thoughts behind the new feelings!.

Writing is all about moving people and feelings!. Words all come with feelings and yours may be different from the average person's and depend on their culture and a shared culture!. Looking up words to find out how definitions work, they are by the context of the synonyms and not directly defined!. Finally every word has several definitions and the subject of a sentence is actually redefined by the objects in a sentence and also by the other words in the there!. So words are more complex than they tell us and have almost unlimited meanings depending on context!. A word also usually has negative and positive meanings, for instance in the overdoing or under doing of the action or thought!. Thinking of truth as relative tells you a lot about it!. You might like reading Wittgenstein on language and words!. I found it pretty easy reading and interesting, although I tend to want to keep it simple and skip around a bit, once I have the idea!.

You can learn so much more with summaries on a lot of subjects and depth in a few, and real depth in even fewer subjects!. You can call on all knowledge to make comparisons!. Everything can tell you something about everything else!. That's why a broad background is so good, with depth in some areas!.

That's a bit long!. I assumed you where thinking and talking about your career, even so it's useful in everything!. Remember, Einstein said, "The only real valuable thing is intuition!." It's as important in science as in spirituality and in life!.

All the other techniques work better if you know that you are listening to your mind and that it uses vision logic at one million times the speed of the conscious mind and creativity is in the right hemisphere, with all your genius and compassion and love!. The average person only uses it 40% as much as the left brain, which is more bodily oriented, arrogant, cynical, etc!. as it's the side that asks the questions and negative, as the body is dark!. Light is in the mind!. You can see why it would be hard to get ideas in the left as it doesn't answer questions, the intuition does!. In other words you be still and listen!. Don't control, be controlled!. Maya Angelou and Gloria Steinem were sort of passive and with such great emotional strength from that place, an apparent contradiction!. You have to reconcile all the apparent contradictions, because life seems to be made up of paradoxes, if I can put it that way and still be understood as it's hard to explain or even understand!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
