Question: KITE RUNNER - People say Rahim Khan is the soul of the story!.!?

I was wondering if people could explain this because I do not understand how he is at all!.

You could say that Rahim Khan is the soul of the story, in terms of the effect he had in shaping the characters!. He encouraged Amir in his writing, giving in the confidence and desire to take it further, which he did!.
