Question: What motivates you to do your work!?
okay, so, I'm going into year 11 (junior year or whatever you americans call it) and the past four years of high school have been a total blow, because I didn't motivate myself
the only subject I can do well is english, so i chose subjects based around english, but whatever, you don't need to know that
sooo just a question for all high school kids here: what gets you through school, without messing around!? what motivates you to do your homework!? and how are you doing at school at the moment!?

yeah you can call me a moron!. i love insultsWww@QuestionHome@Com

I'm guessing you're not from America!. I thought it was amusing and it reminded me when I studied abroad during my college years - I used to say I was a sophomore and just received blank stares sometimes!. Then I'd follow it up with, I'm in my second year!. And I'd get a group reply of: "Ohh okay!."

So, yes, I'm not a High School student, however, I've been there and done that!. I had to be strict on myself!. Take a step away from the computer, shut down all distractions and do the work!. I would sometimes grab a snack - so it made the work easier and I'd promise myself some other kind of treat if I can get the work done in a timely manner!.

Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Actually, hate!. I loathed my school with a fierce and fiery passion, and what got me to go every day was the lingering fear that if I skipped too many classes or didn't try hard enough once I was there, they'd hold me back, and I'd have to do it all over for a whole year more!. ^^ It helped to keep a calendar and check off the days to graduation!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well i just think to myself 'hey if i don't do this right i'm going to regret this when i finish school'
I just like to do it and get it over with so then i don't have to worry about ti!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because it's my duty!. And like it or not, most Americans are still hard workers and that is why we are still the most powerful nation in the world!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I love a challenge!. I like things that challenge me because I love proving myself!. I consider school and assignments to be a challenge and I intend to crush them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm currently around a 3!.8-4!.0 student and I wouldn't call it "motivation" that gets you through grades!. Success in good grades depends on the drive and the effort you put towards school!.

Born in an Asian culture, I say it helps to have strict parents!. They keep you on track in school and stress the issue of doing well when it comes to grades!. If you don't have these parents, I suggest that you put some hours away in a day for studying, reading/reviewing your work and homework!. Take notes and listen in class!. If you ever need help, find a tutoring website [look it up in the internet] or ask your teacher after school!. If there are any places after school where you can study and get free tutoring [my school has it], then go there if you need help studying for a test and etc!.

What "motivates" me I guess is the satisfaction of a good grade at the end of a quarter!. Maybe you can set up a "prize system" with your parents!. If you get this certain GPA, you will get that ipod you really wanted and etc!. [example] That's what would really motivate me because you get to work towards your prize!.

also, lessen your social activities!. I'm not saying to eliminate them [since I go out with my friends every other week]!. But when you are really busy, it is nice not to have any distractions!. Oh, and if you are busy and you know it are, don't turn on the computer or the tv!. I find this distracting when I'm trying to do my homework or trying to study and I always end up procrastinating and AIMing friends or watching a show on tv instead of doing what I'm supposed to do!.

I say there's pretty much nothing that you can't accomplish when you put the effort to it and really try your best!. It just takes the mental stamina to keep those good grades going!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
