Question: Yound Author!? Good or Bad time!?
Ok, I do have the talent of writing and I do want to use it in the future!. Instead of waiting later I would like to start now!. I'm in 9th grade and I've had this passion for more than 3 years!. Just a moment ago I chatted with my mom about what I should do about it!. I mean I have the time and I do have the skills its just I don't know what to do!.
Do you know anything important things leading to creating a story (besides ideas, Organization, Conventions, Word Fluency, and Voice)!?
And is it a bad time for my age to start such a career!?
Thank YouWww@QuestionHome@Com

Just write!. It doesn't matter if it's any good or not - not at this point!. Right now, it's not even an exercise!. Think of it as warming up to exercise - you're loosening up, stretching, getting ready to start!. Write a bit here, a bit there!.!.!.

Let me give you my best piece of advice: learn the details!. Watch conversations between people and see how their body language changes!. Listen for the sounds that nature makes!. Learn to identify the smells!. You may not write a word from that, but when you can use what you've learned, it'll all be for the better!.

Chances are you won't have a career for a while, if at ever!. There's nothing wrong with that!. Until you do, practice!. Writing is like playing an instrument; you have to keep at it to get better!. Keep at it!. You'll get better!. Worry about the career later!. Work on the writing now!. Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Im young and I absolutely love writing!. Just, i dont think starting a career would be so smart!. Just write things (anything you want) and save it!. When you are older, you can edit it out, get it published and everything else!. Until you are actually older just have fun and write for practice!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Christopher Paolini was 15 when he began Eragon!.
It took him 6 years to get it to a "publishable" level!.

Get a start on writing, but don't expect to be the next overnight literary sensation!.

And it's never a bad time to start a "career" in writing!. Writing isn't really a career until you've become published!. Until that happens, it's a hobby!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's never too early to learn the fundamentals as long as you realize you need years of experience & practice!. The most important thing you need to do is to READ--everything you can get your hands on so you can recognize & appreciate the different genres--classics to modern day literature!. You mentioned verbal fluency!. Get a vocabulary books & develop yours rather than being a writer who is dependent on a thesaurus!. Start a journal!. Take the time to describe in detail life around you, but in a microcosm way--the bird @ the bird feeder, a leaf spiraling to the ground (alternative: a leaf clinging to a branch in a death grip--see the difference from a leaf falls to the ground!?), whatever catches your imagination!. Let your imagination roam!. Get a microcassette & practice dialogue!. Listen to patterns of speech when you're out & about or when traveling!. Start w/ short, short stories to develop sparseness of speech to avoid wordiness (my biggest fault!)!. Graduate to short stories & then see if you're ready for a novella!. Try your hand @ poetry!. Read the how-to or advice books written by authors & editors!. I highly recommend A Beginning, A Muddle, And An End: The Right Way To Write Writing by Avi!. It'll take several readings to really grasp his deceptively written advice!. It's a fun read so it won't be a chore!. That's about all I can think of for now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's not a bad time, that boy (now young man) that wrote Eragon was what, 13!? when he wrote Eragon, or at least I believe he was!. I'm in the same pot as you, except I am a junior in school now and I've been writing for ages it seems!. Right now I am in my schools Young Author's club, (one of our Biology teachers, Mr!. Smartschan, is an author) and he is looking at our work, letting us write some during meetings and eventually he is going to get his editor friend who works at a publishing company to come and see some of work!. I suggest you try and find someone who can look at your work, maybe edit it (as long as you can take constructive criticism you're fine) and then try meeting with a small publishing company that can get your name out there!. Good luck! I hope you continue to find as much joy in writing as I do, even now when I am having a terrible case of Lost Muse, or writer's block!.

EDIT: okay, he was fifteen!. hahaWww@QuestionHome@Com
