am i the only person on the planet who hasn't read or watched Twilight!?

i don't avoid the book because it's a "craze"- i mean, it's a craze for a reason right!? because many people like it, therefore it must have some good in it!. but it just doesn't grab me at all!. if i felt like reading it then i would, but i don't!.

why don't you watch "interview with a vampire"!. i really enjoyed that movie- it's thought-provoking and exciting at the same time!.

and to be honest, brad pitt and tom cruise are far better looking that robert pattinson anyway lol!! (yes, i too am shallow)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I didn't want to read it because it was romance, but people that I know, and had never seen in my whole life kept harassing me!. >!.>' They would come up to me every day:
"OOOOOH have you read Twilight!?!!?!"
"No !. !. !. I've heard of it though"
":O IT IS LIKE THE BEST EVA!! You have to read it!!"
"I don't really like romances!."
"You have to read it!"
"Um, I don't really want to !. !. !."
"IT IS THE BEST BOOK EVER AND IF YOU DON'T READ IT I WILL KILL YOU!"
(backs away slowly) "I have to go !.!.!."

That is pretty much what happened every day, so I went out and bought the book just so they would shut the h*ll up!. >!.>
I started reading it during a test (lol teachers are so slow) and then I got obsessed!. !. !. rofl they harassed be into a Twilight ComplexWww@QuestionHome@Com

baaaaaa!

seriously!. what is your reading level!? have you advanced beyond see spot run!? because if you have then there is no way you can even think twilight is halfway decent!.

it shows just how easily silly little girls will jump onto a bandwagon in order to fit in with what is popular!. i wonder if the next big craze will be jumping off a bridge!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I read it, I didn't think it was very good, I went off and read something else!. I'd have gone off and read something else even if I'd loved it - who wants to be stuck with one book, one author, one style of storytelling all the time!?

It's a book, not a religion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Personally, I am not a fan of Twilight!. I like the story line, the Cullens, Jacob and almost every other character in the novel except for Bella!. It just bugs me that she can see herself as clumsy and not very socialble, but yet she gains five friends on the first day of her new school and can become the love interest of a hundred-year-old vampire!. She seems like a PERFECT Mary-Sue!.

also, there is no real build to the climax of the story!. It's introduced about a three-quarter way through the story and ends very simply with the death of a vampire and Bella's injury!. It kind of points out that the story would have been better of without a climax and just left as a never-ending romance novel!.

Aaand the final thing; it keeps popping up EVERYWHERE!. On billboards on the way to school, in magazines, on people's IM names, and on random handouts in the shopping centres!. People also keep saying that "Stephanie Meyer is the AWESOMEST AUTHOR OF ALL TIME!!!!"!. It's really biased to say that when not many people have read the original Dracula and other vampire/romance books; and it's even worse when people shove it in your face!.

I've watched the movie, and I have to say, it was brilliantly directed!. And I've read up to about Chapter Six (The part where Edward is in Bella's bedroom)!. But I kind of do understand why some people like it; they can easily relate to it in the sense of it being written in first person and that people can see themselves as clumsy and not very sociable in a sense!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Heh heh heh, my little sister is very much into Twilight (it made buying her birthday stuff even easier last year)!. Personally I've not given much thought to reading the books!. I pull a face and pretend I am too old for such things even though I have friends of a similar age who have read them and even though I am an avid reader of fantasy books!.

I expect I will probably give them a glance once all the hype has died down and I can read in peace without being bombarded by friends & family members opinions on every sentence!.

I am a little worried however that the romance will be a little too in your face, sickly sweet, red fluffly gooey stuff!. I can stomach a bit of course (Fantasy books have their fair share of saucy moments) but from the way my sister coos over certain characters I think it might be a little too much!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
