The title, Breaking Dawn, is a reference to the beginning of Bella's life as a vampire!. The cover is a metaphor for Bella's progression throughout the entire saga; she began as the physically weakest player on the board, the pawn, but ended up the strongest, the queenWww@QuestionHome@Com

Twilight
What's with the apple!?

The apple on the cover of Twilight represents "forbidden fruit!." I used the scripture from Genesis (located just after the table of contents) because I loved the phrase "the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil!." Isn't this exactly what Bella ends up with!? A working knowledge of what good is, and what evil is!. The nice thing about the apple is it has so many symbolic roots!. You've got the apple in Snow White, one bite and you're frozen forever in a state of not-quite-death!.!.!. Then you have Paris and the golden apple in Greek mythology—look how much trouble that started!. Apples are quite the versatile fruit!. In the end, I love the beautiful simplicity of the picture!. To me it says: choice

New Moon
What kind of flower is that on the cover, and what does it mean!?

A!. That is a ruffled tulip!. As for the meaning!.!.!. If you've read the Twilight FAQ, you know that the apple cover had a lot of meaning for me, and I was an active part of the covering process!. However, that experience is more the exception than the rule in the publishing world!. Something to keep in mind if you intend to embark on a career as a writer: lots of things you might expect to be under your control are not!. Covers, for example!. Those are mostly up to the publisher and the marketing and sales departments!. So I don't know what the tulip means—I didn't have anything to do with this one!.

Eclipse
nothing under the frequently asked questions, sorry :[

Breaking Dawn (the symbolism for this book cover in my favorite)
What does the cover mean!?

Breaking Dawn's cover is a metaphor for Bella's progression throughout the entire saga!. She began as the weakest (at least physically, when compared to vampires and werewolves) player on the board: the pawn!. She ended as the strongest: the queen!. In the end, it's Bella that brings about the win for the Cullens!.

The apple on the front of the Twilight cover is like the apple in Sleeping Beauty!.
The flower on New Moon is like the amaranth|Bella, just sitting there, forever, not doing anything, getting in the way!.
The ribbon in Eclipse is to show that SM ate so many chips while writing this book her belt broke!.
The chess pieces on BD show how vampires spend their time with NOTHING TO DO FOREVER!.

!.!.!.
Okay, really!?
Twilight's apple means what you think it does!.
New Moon's flower's meaning is unknown!.
Eclipse's ribbon is Bella trying to choose between Edward and Jacob!.
BD's chess pieces mean that Bella was once the least powerful person and now is the most powerful!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

twilight: temptation

new moon: nothing (stephenie meyer just like it)

eclispe: same as new moon

breaking dawn: the red pawn decribes bella as a human (small, weak, and full of blood) the white queen decribes her as a vampire (strong, powerful, pale)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Okay the flower was random from the publisher and I think the ribbon was too, but it can symbolize to me how Bella's life is falling apart!.
The chess pieces showed how Bella went from the lowest piece, the pawn, to the highest, the queenWww@QuestionHome@Com

New Moon-stephenie didn't choose the flower- it really didn't have a meaning!.
Eclipse- represents how she is torn between Edward and Jacob!.
Breaking Dawn- represents how she started out as the weakst player (the pawn) and became the strongest player (the queen)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I dont really remember!. But the last book with the chess pieces symbolizes, a small pawn facing a big challenge the queen!. Like how bella was facing the pregnancy and becoming a vampire!. Sorry if i gave anything away!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The tulip means nothing

the ribbon symbolizes Bella and how shes being pulled apart by Jacob and Edward

The chess pieces symbolize how bella progressed through out the book from being the weakest (pawn piece) to the strongest (queen)Www@QuestionHome@Com

They mean absolutely nothing, they're there for show, that's about it!. They look nice, and guide you in to read the books, but after you do, you feel violated!Www@QuestionHome@Com
