Question: Who likes this poem I wrote!?
The Tacking Clock

There once was a clock
Unusual in fact,
Instead of tick-tock,
It sounded tick-tack!.

When people would listen
They’d stop and they’d stare,
Change disposition,
And then would declare…

“My, my, what a marvelous clock,
Tickity-tack instead of tick-tock!.
I think I’ll go and buy one myself,
And take my tocker off my shelf!.”

So searching went the people,
All throughout the town!.
They searched the highest steeple,
And then back to the ground!.

They could not find another one,
Which made that sort of noise,
Nothing now was any fun,
They forgot their other joys!.

They pouted more and more,
Until a man appeared,
A brownish cloak he bore,
And a mustache and a beard!.

“I have indeed” said he,
“What you’ve been looking for,
Of course there is a fee!.”
A smile now he wore!.

So he took their clocks away,
And said he’d have them back,
Before they end the day,
Before they hit the sack!.

And that’s just what he did,
A quarter before nine,
He brought them all back in,
And had them tacking fine!.

They stood in admiration,
Took their hats now off their heads,
Giddy a sensation,
As all of them then said…

“My, my, what a marvelous clock,
Tickity-tack instead of tick-tock,
I think I’ll go right now myself,
And put it prominent on my shelf!.”

--------------------------------------!.!.!.

Now many years have past,
The sensation is all gone,
Their hearts don’t more beat fast,
When they hear the tacking on!.

But something strange has taken place,
Throughout the town there’s talk,
The clock that started all the craze,
Now is sounding out tick-tock!.

The townsmen go to hear this sound,
All throughout the day,
And as they crowd and gather round,
You can hear them say…

“My, my, what a marvelous clock,
Instead of tick-tack, its sound is tick-tock,
I think I’ll go and buy one myself,
And take my tacker off my shelf!.”

--------------------------------------!.!.!.

And that’s just what took place,
For who should appear,
But a sly smiling face,
With a mustache and beard!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Those are really good! I also enjoy writing poems, here is one of mine i wrote yesterday:

You and i alone at last, right here right now this night i vow, to hold you tight and not let go, into you my love shall flow!.
You whisper softly i love you and that would seal our love so true!. hand in hand, side by side together we fly through the starry night sky!.
When this wonderful trip is done, we will count our blessings one by one!. A final kiss and i will cry, thinking wondering asking why!? you tell me we will be alright and we will be together for another great night!.
At the end of a tunnel there is a great bright light!. A place where we can be together!. No bad fights, no bad weather, it would be as if we were floating on a feather!. A place of seclusion, no way for an intrusion!.
Its time for him to say goodbye, and he took my hand and together we cried!.
He turned around and walked away!.
Before he left, he very softly heard me say those three last word i love you was all he heard!. I kept repting those words in my head knowing they will never be dead!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
