Question: Is My fifth grade daughter too young to read James Harriots "All Creatures Great And Small!?" !?
I Have never read the book my self!. My daughter wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up and I want to do everything I can to encourage and support her!.

I'm just worried there may be some "adult" themes in the book!?

If anyone has read it, please advise!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's a wonderful, beautiful series of books and I highly recommend them!. There are no objectionable themes, but she'll have to be prepared for the loss of some animals!.

I hope she enjoys them!Www@QuestionHome@Com

That's a perfectly appropriate book for a 5th grader - I was about that age when I first read it (maybe even a little younger) and my parents were very, very strict about what kind of books I could read!. I remember that I didn't understand all of it, but I loved it anyway and read all the rest of the set as soon as I got the chance!. Definitely recommend it, and you should pick it up when she's done and read it too!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You shouldn't restrict books from kids!. Especially if it's a classic great book!.
When I was 13 or 14 our teachers handed us books adult theme books, and I thought they were great ever since then I have loved books!.
I think as long as you talk to your daughter about the adult themes everything would turn out great!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wonderful books!. Your question made me think about my niece who is planning to be a veterinarian!. She is nine and would probably love these books!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
