Question: Did anyone else love Watership Down!?
I absolutely love the rabbit story!. It's descriptive, and actually sounds like it's straight from the mouths of the bunnies!. However, the movie scared the crap out of me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

True story here: When my husband and I were first dating, we asked one another about our favorite books!. Watership Down topped both of our lists and it's one of many reasons that we found we were so compatible with each other!. 15 years later, we still re-read it on occasion and discuss!.

It's actually a commentary on forms of government, at a subtle level!. Not nearly so obvious as Animal Farm!. But the story itself is very compelling, in addition to the Lapine "language" that is worked in!.

IE: Bigwig telling Woundwort to "eat s*it, you stinking prince" during the battle in the Honeycomb!.

I disagree with you about the movie!. I did think it was a decent movie, but it didn't do justice to the story at all!. Blackavar was one of my favorite characters and he was unceremoniously killed in the movie!.

I do agree that the movie is definitely of the lower end PG-13 variety, even though it was made before the PG-13 rating came out!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I thought the story must be allegorical, but I couldn't ever figure out what he was trying to compare it to!. Nevertheless, I really liked the book!. I liked that the rabbits couldn't count past five and that everything past five they referred to as hrair!. It's a classic!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

yes! that is an awesome book! One of my favorites actually!. I didn't even know there was a movie but usually I don't like movies based on books if I read the book first!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
