Question: What skin tone should my character have!?
His name is William Charles Calloway, and he is a vampire!. Do not think Twilight because trust me, this guy is no Edward!. He is very tall and has a lean body build, not muscular but still has a strong hardened look about him!. His hair is long and a very dark brown (almost black) and his bangs are overly long and always hanging low over his eyes!. His eyes are a bright emerald green!. I can't choose on what skin tone to make him have!.!.!.!.I keep going back and forth and I'm really starting to get on my own nerves!.
Here is what I am considering (though I am open to other options too)
1!. Lightly tanned!. not so dark that he wouldn't count as fair skinned but dark enough so that he's not pale
2!. olive!. not too dark but definitely olive toned
I have been having a really hard time on deciding this!. His love intrest has very pale skin and I think that both would be a good contrast but!.!.!.i dunno!. What do you think would look best!? Thank you :)
Oh, and in MY book, vampires can have all kinds of skin tones!. They don't have to be pale!.

It would be interesting if he was tan (not olive-skinned, but not completely pale) with freckles!. It's unusual since most people with freckles are very light-skinned!.!.!.it'd be a cool contrast to the other character, without being too obvious!.
Oh, and there's nothing wrong with wanting to know what your character should look like!. It bugs me even if I don't know what a character's eyelashes look like, lol!. You don't have to include it ALL in the story, but as a writer I just like to know!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Honestly, it doesn't really matter what his exact skin tone is!. More than likely, people will be inclined to picture him very very pale just because he's a vampire!. You can't change peoples' stereotypes by describing him differently!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
I think pale with alot of freckles would be nice!. Although I have that detail in my book so!.!.!.
