Question: My book is about 172,000 words!?
Now that i got your attention, I have multiple questions!. First, how many paperback pages will that be!? Because i'm a first time writer, how do you think the publishers will respond to me (plus, lets face it, i don't want to end up in the shitty *** black authors section where no one gets any attention except toni morrison and walter mosley!.!.!.!.i think i have a lot more to offer than really bad romance erotica-my book is essentially a contemporary sci-fi thriller-but isn't it good i'm finally stating what everybody is always thinking!?)!. And the other question is to all the other young writers, how do yiu get your ideas!? for me it usually happens like, one day a random title pops on my head (In this real life case, one day i came up with the name "Play Donnybrook" and then,about a year later i was roding the train home from a concert and thought, what if a guy got stomped into a coma in the mosh pit!? Thus, my novel was born!. not exactly a dream but closeenough)!. But, through what steps do you take to ascertain a novel idea!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

A page in a paperback book will generally have between 300 and 400 words on it!. also, I'm wondering where you shop for books!. The last time I checked Alice Walker, Maya Angelou, Derek Walcott, and Langston Hughes got a fair bit of attention too, and they haven't been near the erotica section of any bookstore that I've been to!. As far as ideas go, I make them up!. That's pretty much it, and I assume it's that way with all authors!. I don't think that there is any plausible way to express the origins of inspiration!. I have read that publishers will not be inclined to publish a first time novel with more than 100!.000 words, so if your novel is that long, you might have to edit things out!.
I get my ideas when I day dream, am in the shower, drive!.!.!.!. Anywhere really!. Usually where paper is not available, so I freak!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

mosh pit!? bro!. people arent gonna take you seriously if you write about "juvenile/young adult" subjects!. you gotta go deeper if you rlly wanna be serious about this, i mean ya, coming from some random person thats not even spelling right but listen to me!.
If you want to be a serious writer you have to go where other ppl dont wanna go, read what ppl have not read yet, something different!.
If I wrote a book on my week long football camp in ninth grade no one would give me a second look!.
You gotta be a thinker before you become a writer!.
Some books you should read to see way different styles: Slaughter House Five, The Poisonwood Bible, Siddhartha, The Atonement!.
Keep your mind open to new ideas and styles!.
