Question: How do agents actually work with writers as far as revision!?
Does an agent sit down with the aspiring author and they talk each other through the work!? Does the author just receive some notes!? How does this final act of polishing happen, before sending off to publishers!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Okay, if you are a first time writer, then the agent will usually read your manuscript, make notes and suggestions, then request revisions!. When they are comfortable with the manuscript then they will start talking to publishing houses trying to make a sale!. Now sometimes, after you are published and your agent knows you can write they won’t even read the manuscript!. You will write them a synopsis and that is all they have to go on!.!.!. they just go out and try to sell it!. Now, you have to remember that every agent works differently!. Some agents will work through the manuscript with you, and some won’t!. I can tell you that agents expect your manuscript to be polished when they receive it!. Don’t try to submit an manuscript unless it is the best it can be!. Edit, edit, edit!. It only takes me about five weeks to write a book, but sometimes it takes me a whole year just to edit it to my satisfaction!. Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
