Bilbo Baggins throws a birthday party, and then disappears, leaving (after some coaxing) his ring with his heir, Frodo!. Gandalf warns Frodo to be careful with it, and then discovers that it's the ring of power!. After a bit of meandering, Frodo, his servant Sam, and friends Merry and Pippin set off to Rivendell with the ring, passing through the old forest (where they met Tom Bombadil) into Bree, where they met up with a man named Strider!. They all set out towards Rivendell, Frodo gets stabbed by a Black Rider and is deathly sick!. They encounter an elf named Glorfindel, they all manage to make it to Rivendell!.
End book 1!.

Book 2 begins with the Council of Elrond!. They make a Fellowship to set out to destroy the ring and cripple Sauron, the enemy!. They pass through Moria, but Gandalf falls, Strider then takes command!. They pass through Lothlorien, and meet the lady of the golden wood, Galadriel!. At the end, the company splits when Boromir (of the fellowship) tries to take the ring for himself- the lure was too great!. Frodo and Sam head to Mordor to destroy the ring, Merry and Pippin are captured by orcs, Boromir is killed, the other set off to free Merry and Pippin, the fellowship is broken!.
End book 2!.
