Question: Good books for mature 13 year old girl!?
So tis the holidays and I'm looking for a few good books I can really indulge in during my vacation!.
I'm quite a mature reader, loved the Tudor Court novels from Phillipa Gregory, the Bronze Horseman trilogy by Paullina Simons, White Gardenia by Bellinda Alexandra and The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon!.
I am currently reading The Gravedigger's Handbook by Markus Zusak and Sashenka by Simon Montefiore!.
I love historical books and am pretty into the generic things like Harry Potter, Twilight etc!.
Please help, any advice would be great!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I wouldn't have thought a 13 yr would have appreciated the nuances of Gregory (but I'm not 13!. What do I know!?)

Ignore the little ditz up a few comments!. She couldn't read or spell her way out of a wet paper bag!.

If you're looking for something you could skim through on brain-dead, check out Anne Rinaldi ("An Acquaintance with Darkness" was fun but all others do as well)!.

If you're looking for something a little different, I'd suggest Thomas Harris (I have to) and anything by McKinley!. McKinley has nothing to do with Harris (H = Silence of the Lambs, M = Fantasy) but McKinley does some stuff reworking old fairy tales and with your interest in history, I think that might appeal to you!. Try reading "Deerskin"!. It reworks a little known Grimm tale well!. A very dark book but worth being disturbed!.

All my bestWww@QuestionHome@Com

-The Gemma Doyle Trilogy by Libba Bray

-The Guinivere Trilogy and the Tristan and Isolde Trilogy by Rosalind Miles (if you like historical books then you should like those!. I am also a Philippa Gregory fan by the way!)

-The House of Night series by PC and Kristin Cast

-Evernight by Claudia Gray

-Gossip Girl series by Cecily Von Ziegesar

-ANY book by Sarah Dessen is great (I especially recommend Dreamland, Someone Like You, and Just Listen)

-The Chronicles of Narnia

-Wicked Lovely and Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr

-Tithe by Holly Black

-Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Sheperd

-Uglies Trilogy by Scott Westerfield

ETC!.!.!.!.definitely check those out!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't know any of the books that you have listed!.!.!.!. but I like the Twilight series!. I know you wrote that but have you read all of them!? Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen is okay!. My friends like it a lot!. They also like a series called the Specialists by Shannon Greenland and the Gossip Girl series!. Not sure you'll like them!.!.!.!.!.!.!. I also like books by Scott Westerfield!.!.!.but again, I don't know if you'll like it!. So!.!.!.thats it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you have read books from Stephenie Meyer read Richelle Mead's vampire books!. They're just as good but has way more action and the plot is more intense!. Cassandra Clare's books - The Mortal Instruments #1 & #2 are in the fantasy genre!. Its like a soap opera!. Girl & Boy fall in love!. Find out their actually siblings!. Dating others to make them forget about one another!. But, the books were actually pretty good!. I mostly read fantasy books so i don't know much about other books outside the genre but i know the Pirate triology by Dave Perry and Ridley Pearson are good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you are interested in mystery, then I would suggest the Amelia Peabody books!. It is a series of like 17 books about a Victorian woman and her adventures in Egypt!. They are great!. It is by my favorite author, Elizabeth Peters!. The first book in the series is Crocodile on the Sandbank!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A Series of Unfortunate Events are pretty good too!.!.
I'm a teenager as well and I loved Pride and Prejudice!.
You should try Goodnight Mister Tom!.!. It's fantasticWww@QuestionHome@Com

The Catcher In The Rye
Fahrenheit 451Www@QuestionHome@Com

oh! I'm reading "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak and like it, if you haven't already, you should read it!Www@QuestionHome@Com

house of the night series will
have you reading all night!
its really addicting!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That's not very mature, when i was 13 i was reading Charles dickens Oliver twist and books like moby dick in its original state, now my parents where wealthy and i had the finest education but dont go tooting your horn for no reason, plus 13 is to young to be on here!.

ADD: Go on and give me thumbs down, but this swarm of children who think they are so intelligent because they are a notch above braindead is whats holding back truly gifted students, people raise up mediocrity but whens someone is actually gifted they shove them to everyone elses level, and you know what they lose anything they had going for them!.
sorry i'm in a rant mood!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
