I can't give you a specific example as I don't have the text in front of me, but maybe I can help you find what you're looking for!. Alliteration is a literary device that uses repetition of consonants at the beginning of several words of a phrase!. The classic example is the nursery rhyme, "Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers!.!.!." The [p] sound is repeated in several words, thus, the phrase is an example of alliteration!. As you are reading the Odyssey (great work, by the way), look for a phrase which has several words that begin with the same consonant!. There are several, if I recall!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Kate has nailed it!. Let me add one thing!. Since the book was originally written in Greek, 'the alliteration would actually be the work of the translator, not Homer'!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
