For instance, take the final book!.!.!.!.Breaking Dawn!.

A huge build up to a massive vampire war, and then a let down with a weak solution to the whole war!.

Seriously!? Is she incapable of writing a huge battle seen!.
JK Rowling delivered us one in her final Harry Potter book!.
Is Stephanie Meyer catering to the tween audience!? Or a poor excuse for an author!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Yes, it did!. I find it really hard to believe that she graduated with a degree in English!. She got to study in a good university, and this is the result!? Sounds to me there was bribery afoot!.!.!.

It is always like that!. She cannot create good conflict and suspense!. In Twilight, she had Bella faint so that we wouldn't be able to read about the battle with James!. In New Moon, the talk with the Volturi was boring and lame!. In Eclipse, Edward and Victoria's face-off was weak; they really were dancing instead of fighting!. In Breaking Dawn, Stephenie spent hundreds of pages to build up the fight and it all turned into smoke when it came right to it!.

J!.K!. Rowling, now that is a brilliant author who could really pack on the conflict!. And imagine, she was once poor!. Stephenie, instead, had a good life and never experienced Rowling's hardships!. See the difference!?

Stephenie writes like an immature 12-year-old!. Which is not surprising, since she caters to hormonal, gullible tweens/teens and desperate middle-aged women who still live with their parents!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In my opinion the lack of battle scene was not a disappointment!. the battle scenes in harry potter are boring for me, and i often felt alienated by them!. Meyer explains on her website that why she did not have a battle scene!. it was a war of minds, and that i think strengthened the general plot of breaking dawn!.

For alot of people Meyers lack of technical experience was a let down and the main reason for the dislike they felt for the book!. That is a very fair opinion!. However others who look for different things in a book will have different opinions!. It all depends on what you like your books to be like!. For me Meyer's strength of building and developing brilliant characters made the book for me, because that is important to me as a reader!. It is less important to others!.

Meyer has done very well regarding the Twilight saga as before she had no intention of being a professional author!. However her technical ability is lacking, but this is sometimes regarded as unimportant as she writes for young adults who, on the whole, do not care for technical ability!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You cannot possibly compare Joanne Rowling with Stephenie Meyer --- Rowling is a genius, and is incredibly gifted with storytelling!. She's just as amazing and rare as JRR Tolkien!. Rowling is one of those great authors of fantasy literature whose works will become, if not already, a classic in fifty years' time!. She is going to be a legend like Tolkien!.

Stephenie Meyer, on the other hand, showed some promise with her first 2 books in the Twilight saga, but failed to deliver much in the rest of her sequels!. It was almost like beginner's luck!. And the fact that (unlike Rowling) she claims that she "did not plan on becoming a writer" REALLY does show in her works!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Stephanie Meyers, certainly doesn't know how to write!.
She was just some boring old lady who had a dream one day and started to write
J!.K!. Rowling actually studied english and even taught for a few years, prior to writing - she has more experience under her belt and she also was a natural born story teller!. I feel that even if she is catering to a tween audience, the books could have been written better, with less describitive words about Edward - christmas three syndrome and something more indepth about the characters!.

Edit: it seems to me most of you guys!.have no idea what good literature is!. Twilight is BORING!.!.!.sheesh - tweens!.
( bring on the thumbs down guys)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with xohaz!. I really liked the story and I think the reason people like it so much is cuz they can relate to the characters so much (In some ways more than others!. Not the point) but yes I do agree with you that I was dissapointed with the 'non-fighting' in Breaking Dawn!. Although I kinda liked that it was a peaceful ending, I think she shouldnt have made such a huge fuss about a battle that was never gonna happen!. Still, I dunno what draws me towards these books!. I simply love them!. And sweetie, it's not cuz of Edward Cullen!. Trust me!. I'm mature enough to understand that he isnt real!.

AimeJane: Thank you so much!. Very well put!. Honestly!.!.!.I completely agree with you =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, SM's Breaking Dawn was kind of a let-down, but JK Rowlings book can be a let down every once in a while too!. I hated the last book!.

But if u look at all of Stephenie Meyers' other books, were those a let down!? Was twilight, New Moon, and eclipse all that bad!?, and besides that wasn't the begining, and middle of Breaking dawn good!? I absolutely loved the book!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think you should read "The Host" by SM!. It's very good and creative!.
Perhaps Meyer wanted to resolve issues peacefully, instead of charging through a big battle!. Perhaps that says something about what values she holds!. Authors are allowed to do that, you know!.

also, I find it hilarious that someone wrote J!.K!. Rowling is man! HAHAHAHA!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree!. I would have liked the books better if there were good grammar and detail words!. also more action to balance out the klutz and vampire love!. I think Jacob would be a better match since he wasn't a controlling vampire that left Bella with little options!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Comparing Meyer to Rowling is an insult to Rowling!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Twilight was ruined as soon as the thought of making the book popped up in her head!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, it depends on how you want to look at it!. I liked it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I loved the story, not a big fan of her writing!. it's a bit dull!. :/
