I'm trying to remember the title or author of a book which focuses on three female friends at different stages in their lives!. One of the main points I remember about it is that one friend was secretly dating a preacher who was later caught having an affair with gay man, whose name I believe was Peaches!. Novel is about Ninth Ward before Katrina!.!.!.'Tonya' meets and loves 'Johnny' a former football player and preacher!.
Johnny goes to jail for beating a guy who roughs Tonya up, meets and loves James!. Once out, they must deal with former women lovers, men and much more!.
Book is called by turns 'illuminating and hilarious!.'
Review (editorial) says author 'moves easily between church pews and drag queens!.'

I think the closest I find to your question is this second book!.
Made notes on more books but they don't involve any gay preacher!.
"Peaches" involved as a name in search brought up mostly 'deep South stories' about relationships between grandmothers, mothers and daughters!.!.!. a few preachers, none who fall in love with a gay man named Peaches!. Sorry about that!. Maybe 'Three' is it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
