Quite frankly, I'm puzzled!. If her books, as you say, are poorly written, why then have they sold 25 million!? What does that say about the 25 million who bought them!? I think that if one says a book is poorly (or well) written is a matter of opinion!. If Stephenie Meyer doesn't care that her books are poorly written, she's fooling a lot of readers!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nothing of the above is supposed to be impolite!. We still agree that the novels are poorly written, though we accept that they are addictive to many people and dearly loved, too!. Therefore, we have agreed not attack the fan crowd anymore for their love of the novel, just as much as we expect not to be attacked for not liking it quite so much!.

Probably not, which actually makes her even worse!. If she's happy that she's just getting a whole bunch of money out of it, then obviously she won't care how the books are written, as long as they get written on time and hit the bookshelves on schedule so millions and millions of idiots (myself included) can waste a couple of days of their lives hoping the story is actually going somewhere, only to have their hopes crushed!. Seriously, after the second one, I bought book after book, hoping there was a point to it!. But there wasn't!. At least I have the paper, and the covers are really pretty!. And she's made around $60 off me, so everyone wins!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

She said in an interview that she finished writing Twilight (the first one) in 4 months, and she wrote it with 3 young children, so I can kind of understand why the writing style was not amazing!. She rushed through it, and I'm sure her priority at the time was her family, not writing a novel!. Actually, she also said she never planned for it to BE a book in the first place, she just had a dream and decided to write the dream down on paper before she forgot it, and the story got so long that she was like: hey, this could be a book!

The other three books took her a year (each) to finish!. I think if she hadn't rushed through it, the writing could have been amazing because it's a good story, just bad writing!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have no desire to read the Twilight books!. I am sure that Meyers doesn't care since she is making a ton of money and has many fans!. However, since I have never met her, I have no idea how she feels!.

Based on reviews of her books, I suspect strongly that this is a case of Sturgeon's Law!. (And there is a heckova lot of crap that gets published!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

If she thinks that her book was badly written, why publish it at all!?
I mean, books are for people to enjoy!.
Anyway, publishers are very strict with books and so are editors!.

Plus, I don't think that her books are badly written!.
