Question:

I've read all of the Twilight books, and even the Host (that Stephenie Meyer wrote)
I thought the plot was great!.!.!.but I thought that the writing was amateur and WAY too cliche!.

it seemed like she was directing her book toward 14 year olds but somehow NOBODY notices that the writing isn't that great (at least not what its put out to be)
sure its a good book but i don't think it's good enough to win oscars or even be made in to a movie!.

do not get mad at me for saying this
i don't want to hear, " OMG TWILIGHT IS AMAZING I LOVE EDWARD" because that doesn't matter to me!. its not going to make me think differently if you get mad that i'm saying things about your oh so precious book!.
i thought it was alright so I read ALL of them!. I even went to see the movie!. !.!.!.which sucked too!.
the acting was horrible!.
rosalie is GORGEOUS in the book but mediocre in the movie!.

i mean,
does anyone understand where i am coming from!?

I have read them and love them but I agree with you!. She is barely a mediocre writer if you want to compare her to Faulkner and Salinger or even JK Rowling!. However she does do a good job of giving people exactly what they want!. They want a juvenile love story!. We all want to live in a fantasy world!. She provides a good and understandable voice which a reader can connect to!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

ok well i love the books but i do see where u are coming from!. i guess i was to wrapped up in the book and in love with the characters that i didn't notice and still don't that her writing wasn't that good!.
but i do agree with u about the move they totally stuffed it up and none of the characters are wat i pictured them!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hmm, yeah I've heard loads of other people talking about the English used in the books!.
I like the books & all,
but I think the publishers of the books knew it would raise lots of money quickly, & were just in such a hurry to get it out there they wouldnt have gone over it enough!. Like how she used words like ''chagrin'' over & over again was a bit annoying!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hated the books, going to laugh at the ridiculousness of the movie tmrw!. [My friends watched it and said it was a gigantic laugh because it was so bad, so now I REALLY want to go!. Bad logic, but I need laughs that have been triggered unintentionally]Www@QuestionHome@Com

OMG! i agree i hate it! the first book sucks, i know a bad book when i read it!.!.the book and the movie sucks! i hate it is WAY to cliche and it's a chick flick (book!?)

i hate those who say "OMG! EDWARD is HOT!" he isn't the author is way to discriptive and way too much on her point of view that seems so girly but she's like 40 (ur mother's age come on!) and she sucks so bad ppl only likes b/c of edward and they are all brain washed of how good the book is!. a book hooks ppl by the writing, and the hook not b/c a vampire and a normal girl fall in love and bella cares soo much about edward and nothing but him and she doesn't see what's in front of her eyeballs!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I see where you're coming from, but I'd still like to make a few points!. I liked the first book in the series, "Twilight", maybe because I'm a 13 year old girl and the romance/adventure intrigued me!. I don't know!. The other books, eh, not so much, and the movie was entertaining, but not in the way they wanted it to be!. As for why it deserved to be made into a movie - probably it's popularity!. It may seem stupid to write a book towards 12-16 year olds, but the way the book gained popularity was astonishing!.

I'm reading Twilight right now and it is honestly painful to read!. Her writing is very amateur!. She is just not a great writer!. I agree that plot seems decent, but she cannot construct an interesting, consistent character!. It is honestly laughable at times!. I really have and am trying to like the book, but she makes it tough!. I will watch the movie, but I'm waiting for the dvd to hit netflix, I'm not paying to watch it!. I'm 24, so I can justify it to myself the maybe I'm just too old for the books and it probably is a good book for a 14 or 16 year old to read!. However, that theory is blown out of the water b/c I honestly didn't realize it was aimed at a younger audience b/c all I saw was 20 and 30somehtings sitting around Barnes and Nobel completely indulged in it!. I'm completely baffled on this one, doesn't make any sense to me as to why it is the phenomenon it is!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i totally get where you are coming from!. i really enjoyed reading the books, but the writing was not fantastic!. i think everyone is getting way too obsessed about this book and it is starting to get on my nerves!. the movie was not amazing either!. they totally screwed up a lot of the scenes, and they added a lot of crap instead of leaving in important parts!. the casting was good, not great in my opinion!. some characters were perfect, while others made me disappointed!. i do admit to having discussions about the books with my friends, however that's all they will talk about anymore!. that's actually the reason why i read the books in the first place!. i figured i might as well know what the heck we were all talking about!.

I understand where you're coming from!. But as a first writer i think she did quite well!. Sure the books were aimed towards younger readers and so it was a little cliche at times to make sure they were hooked!. I mean, what average 14 year old girl, wants a 1200 page mystery with ten subplots and no love!?
And i agree that the movie casting is terrible!. I have to say it's one of the WORST cast movies ever!. NONE of the actors even remotely fitted my vision of them!. And for all you haters out there, it's not cause 'edward is so perfect' anyone would have been better then rob!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
