Bedroom, Living Room, Kitchen, Dining Room, Classroom, Library, Car, and occasionally Washroom!.!.!.don't act as if you don't do it too! How!? leaning backwards holding book with both hands, lieing backwards with book resting on stomach and holding it up with hands, lieing on stomach with book leaning on surface so my hands are free, lieing on side and holding book with one hand, sitting down with book lieing flat on desk or table, sitting down with book resting on thighs or knees - I usually alternate between these positions in one reading session When!? Morning, Afternoon, Evening, and Night - I read a lot and whenever I get the chance which can be at anytime!. How Often Everyday!? It depends on how busy I am that day!. If I'm a bit busy, I can squeeze in an hour or two of reading time before bed!. If I'm super busy, I squeeze in a half hour up to an hour of reading time!. If I have nothing else to do, then I can read for 3 hours and more!. It also depends on how interested I am in the book but I'm usually pretty interested in the books I read!. Hardcover Books!? I use all of the same positions I listed in 'How!?' except for the position where I'm lieing backwards and holding the book up with two hands because hardcover books are too heavy for that and my arms usually get tired fast!. It drives my husband crazy when we go on a trip--even if it's only an hour away--& I start reading once we're on the highway!. (In-town driving & reading makes me carsick)!. I have this great chaise lounge in my sitting room & I read there sometimes!. In the living room & sun room/library I have 2 favorite chairs!. I try to be adaptable!. also, in those rooms there are a couple favorite paintings!. Sometimes I stop reading to stare @ the pictures while I mull over a plot twist or absorb facts if the book is non-fiction!. Definitely w/ both hands!. My hand cramps otherwise!. To expand on the 1st question: my psychiatrist has finally accepted it's a quirk of mine to come 15-20 minutes before my appt!. so I can read uninterrupted in his waiting room!. I don't care about the time of day as long as I can read for awhile!. Length of time varies on that day's routine!. There's always time in my day, however!. I read hardcovers sometimes in a chair, but those I generally prefer to read at a desk or table!. How: Holding the book with both of my hands or placing the book on a table to read!. When: Where ever I am free!. Mostly on weekends I start reading when I wake up!. On Weekdays I just read after school and in the night time!. The longest time I have read a book was 6 hours and that was one of the Twilight books!. On average everyday I spend up to 4 hour hours + reading!. Paperbacks are usually with one hand; hardcovers are both hands or laying open on the bed!. Read pbks more often than hardcovers; I definitely own more of the former than the latter due to cost & weight, but library books are often hardcover!.Www@QuestionHome@Com often times when i settle down to read i end up in a totally different place than i started!. i might start off on my bed but my legs will go to sleep and i will roll over!. sometimes i will hold the book over my head but my arms get tired so i roll over on my side, but then my arm falls asleep!. finally i came up with the idea that the most comfortable position to read in is on a reclined chair in a quiet cool room!. but ever since i took a tip from my father i always take a book with me when i go camping, i walk up a high mountain with a cool breeze at my back and a warm sun on my head and i am able to read with more ease than any other place!. We have a half-an-hour time after lunch where we just read to ourselves!. Then I read at home in the evening for about half-an-hour in my bed!. Depends on the size of the book but just got this wonderful gadget that holds book pages down and rests on tables or on your knee - see link! Whenever I am not doing other things! I have been known to read for 9 hours straight on a night shift when the patient is sleeping!
