Question: If the ISBN is different, technically is a different book right!?
Ok so I bought a book on half!.com and I ordered this
http://product!.half!.ebay!.com/_W0QQtgZinf!.!.!.
but in return i got this
http://product!.half!.ebay!.com/_W0QQtgZinf!.!.!.
the thing is that the books appear to be similar but the ISBN is the difference, as well as the price! The book i received had a label stuck over the "original ISBN" with the "expensive" isbn!. am I making a big deal out of this!? I mean it's like puting a Sony label on any TV just because they look alike and fuction the same way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Looks to me like you went for the expensive one and got one for much less, is that right!? I hope so!.
The differences I see, besides ISBN numbers, explain why the numbers differ: the first link is on a book put out by 'Oxford Uni Pr' in '2004', the second shows the same book, one extra page, put out by 'Roxbury Pub Co' in October 2004!.

It appears that probably the University published this book at their press first and subsequently allowed Roxbury (not a uni press but a publishing house) to publish it again in October!. Maybe 'allowed' is incorrect!. It's more likely a copyright was sold!.
That is why you see different ISBN numbers!.
Unless you're still being charged about $40, I really don't think you will have a problem owning this book!.
University presses often release what they have to 'regular' publishing houses!.
I went back and forth between links and the main difference I see is the price!.
It appears to me you got a deal you didn't expect!. True!?

If not, contact eBay again and question them (though they will direct any correspondence to the seller and as I recall auctioned books are a 'done deal,' but I could be wrong!. It's been awhile)!.
There is no harm considering buying the less expensive book (IF you paid $40 and s+h) and putting yours up for auction yourself at eBay!.
Best of luck and now you know why ISBN numbers change!.
Look at the copyright page to be sure who published the book you got!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's the same book, just a different edition, from a different publisher!. The reason for the sticker over the ISBN is because the supplier is automatically substituting this edition for orders of the other one because they ran out of that one, for whatever reason!. The sticker is for their convenience, so that their order tabulations vs inventory records match up!. I guess you can complain if you want to, but I don't see how you've been harmed by the transaction!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, if there is a difference in the price you SHOULD make a big deal out of this!. Contact the bank and tell them you don't accept the transaction!. I have done it in the past and it worked!. Of course, it's a long process, you will have to provide them evidence but it's worth it!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
