Question: Writing a book - what do you think the best approach on this story is!?
I'm writing a book, and I would like your opinion on this!.

It's about a girl who leaves her hometown and is going to school in a different city!. Her parents don't know she left, and she created a different identity for herself!. She leaves to be with the person she loves, even though he doesn't know she'll be there!.

I don't know if I should say all that at the beginning, and provide some background information, provide just about nothing and then fill in the blanks later, or just say she's running away but not say why!.

I'm leaning towards explaining that she's leaving home, but not say that she ran away, that what I introduced her as isn't her real name, and not say exactly why she left!. But drop hints, to make it interesting!. What do you guys think!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think you should introduce everything by her running away then each night she has a dream about why!. It will introduce the character and make it interesting!.

I agree with Brian!. You can start in the middle of the story in the town she now lives in!. Then flashback to how she got there!. Then conclude the story with some twist to keep it interesting!.

There is a new website that may be launched in the next month called Your book Place!. You can write your book on this site and other authors can contribute to your story!. Then you can choose what to keep and throw out!. also, you can be the sole author, have the book edited and published and place on the site for sale!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

There's a Latin term that translates "in the middle of things!." That's the approach I'd recommend!. This is how the Star Wars saga was told!. First there was the middle part of the story, episodes 4-6, to get us interested!. Then there was beginning, episodes 1-3, to explain how we got there!. Then there was supposed to be episodes 7-9 to wrap it up but that's another issue!. So do that, start in the middle to create interest, go back to the beginning for background and then finish with a flourish!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Her thoughts in the very beginning should reflect her state of mind -- a little confusion, a little apprehension and a thrill!. This will pass on to the reader who will feel compelled to read on!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

have you written any pages yet!? If not, start & try several different ways & see which one you like the best! Just start writing & let it flow; you can go back & revise it later; good luck! Www@QuestionHome@Com
