Well, this isn't a great answer, but Dean Koontz books are faster paced and just dive right into the action, while Steven King books slowly builds and unfolds in yet an interesting way that seems satisfyingly well put-togeather!. But a lot of Dean Koontz books are really cheesy!. I've read a couple where the main character is an extreme Mary Sue or Gary Sue, and the narrative is almost childish and is unbelievable!. And many of his books have similiar plots, making them repetitive!. But a lot of them are alright, too, and insightful, especially the more sci- fi'ish ones where its alright that his writing and narrative isn't rigidly realistic!. I like The Taking!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
