Question: Isn't there ANYONE who favors Harry Potter over Twilight, out there!?!!?
Seriously!?

I've read both and still love Harry Potter more! I've heard both sides of the argument, so don't try and defend Twilight! Just tell me, isn't there anyone out there!?!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
I definitely do!. Why!? Because Twilight isn't even that good!. The story is predictable, the characters are flat, and their personalities change in the very next book!. There's almost no consistency, other than all the books are full of words but empty with meaning!.

In Harry Potter, the premise was intriguing, original, and creative!. J!.K!. Rowling created an entire wizard culture with her books, and weaved the most brilliant and thought-provoking stories!. NO book of her was the same, and NONE were predictable!. My favorite thing about his series is that it alludes to the Holocaust very closely, while still being a story of its own!. Not only that, but there was an abundance of sub-plots going on that spanned over several books, further expanding the characters and enriching their personality!.

The Harry Potter movies don't do the book enough justice, but if the Twilight movie is bad (which it looks like it will be), then it won't be any different from the book!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

!.!.!.Are!.!.!.you!.!.!.kidding!? Hellz to the yeah!.

For those wondering why, let my rhetoric amaze you!. :P

I personally have read all of the Twilight books, and I have to say I am fully on the Twilight-hate train!. The reason for this has been fully expressed by the many, many comments and posts all across the interwebz about how they are badly written books that do not have a sufficient plot or strong main characters to deserve the popularity and hype!.

That said, I have loved Harry Potter since I was tiny, and will defend it forever!. Now THAT series is one that deserves everything that has come to it!. The originality, creativity, and depth of the 7 book plotline is one that is timeless!.

A few examples of why I believe what I believe:

Twilight is a book that appears to be written for a very specific audience: females, ages 13-20!. Sure, other ages may be a part of the craze, but it is basically a very cliche romance novel for teens!. Harry Potter has been enjoyed by everyone, both male and female, young and old, kid, teen and adult!. JKR has written a whole world that is creative and can be enjoyed by any!. She spent about 15 years forming the plot, while Stephenie Meyer fantasized about the concept in a dream and then wrote it!. I personally believe it is underdeveloped; therefore lesser than the HP series!.

JKR's writing style is a world unto its own!. Unlike Meyer, she uses words that captivate you, but do not make you want to cringe!. Meyer is constantly describing how amazing and *dazzling* Edward is!. Do we really need that!? It's not like we forgot the first hundred times it was stated! It's basically a quarter of the whole book! It takes a certain stomach to be able to read a book full of adjectives about how incredible Edward Cullen is and how much Bella Swan loves him!. She doesn't have a life without him! When he leaves her in New Moon, she withdraws from everyone and wants to kill herself!. Wonderful message, yes!? The relationships between the characters are based on lust/ random sudden feelings and the characters aren't realistic at all!. Not the whole vampire/werewolf thing, the personalities!. They aren't developed well at all!. Bella is self-pitying and miserable for most of the books!. It is pretty juvenile, and the writing clearly shows how the author wishes she was Bella in order to have some amazingly hot guy fall obsessively in love with her!.

Harry Potter and Twilight are on such different levels of literature that I really can't see how anyone could compare them!. I honestly pity those who read Twilight before Harry Potter!. HP taught me many things, Twilight on the other hand gave me unrealistic beliefs of men!.

Let's wrap this up with a quote from JK Rowling herself, shall we!?

Why 19 years later!? (referring to the time line of the epilogue of Deathly Hallows)

"I didn't want some people to have children too young because I don't think that's good," Rowling said!.
"So 19 years was just enough time for the next generation to have reached the point I wanted them to reach when the Hogwarts Express is departing!."

"I don't want to encourage teenage pregnancies," Rowling said, laughing!. "It couldn't be much earlier than 19!."

This, THIS, is a perfect example!. Rowling is a better role model than Stephanie Meyer!. She promotes things like trust, friendship, family, feminism, and a lot more!. Meyer writes the most anti-feminist published stuff I've ever read, promotes teen pregnancy, superficial obsessions and superiority complexes!. Its just sad that teenage girls love it so much!.
Even if others think Deathly Hallow's epilogue wasn't amazing it was still better than the whole Breaking Dawn book!.

also, USA Today's list of the top best sellers in the past 15 years clearly tells you something, considering it's all HP in the top 10, and the highest SMeyer book is at #26!. See source for proof!.

Yeah, yeah I'm done now!. Have a good day!

There are millions of people worldwide who love Harry Potter and have probably never heard of Twilight!.
