You should study English, obviously, and, if you are able to attend college, pursue an English major with emphasis upon courses in creative writing (even in expository writing and journalism to obtain a well-rounded experience)!. Practice, too, is obligatory, and, as you gain proficiency, you might attempt to sell some of your work -- particularly short stories -- to periodicals!. And, don't overlook reading (!); nothing can substitute for actually gaining an appreciation for the art of writing from reading those who have become published authors!. I think that you are more likely to be successful if you have a real education, but some writers are born story-tellers, so, should you be unable to attend to college, don't be discouraged!. Just write! If you're determined and talented, you'll surely achieve your dream eventually! Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Read and never stop!. also indulge in intelligent non-written media like well-written TV shows, music with poignant, poetic lyrics, good movies, visual arts because this will help you formulate ideas, develop your imagination, broaden your interests and will present you with various styles as well!. Observe everything around you, and maybe even eavesdrop once in a while because everything and anything can be the source for a story, a poem an essay or what have you!. Study up on literary techniques and theory and practice them!. Be familiar with various authors and learn from, but don't copy their styles!. also, write continuously about anything!. Keep a pen and paper ready and never let an idea escape you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't wait til you're older to become a writer!. Start writing now!. The more you write and write and write, the better you'll be!. Write whatever excites or interests you!. Don't worry about writing a novel and finishing it!. Just write as much as you can and READ high-quality literary fiction!.

And do not take writing courses!. I do not understand how you could take a class to learn how to write well!. Maybe a little bit better!. But the best thing you can do is READ and WRITE on your own!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

practice as much as possible

write and hone your skills, learn grammar rules and spelling rules

use your creative mind as often as you can

you can submit to publishers very easily, find them online but be sure you always burn stories to cd's so you can keep them before you send a copy to any publisher, if they use it without giving you credit and paying you, you will need that cd for proof it was yours, but most publishers are honest in this regard

Just write!. Write using your feelings to create the mood and atmosphere!. And read!. A!. TON!. Reading is the key to learning new words, how to use them, grammar, and to spark your imagination!.

And, as I said, write!. All the time!. The more you do it, the better you get!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
