Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Propaganda; Squealer uses propaganda to convince the animals of any changes on the farm!.
Squealer always uses the excuse "!.!.!.surely none of you wishes to see Jones back!?"
Fear & violence: the slaughters of the animals; Napoleon makes the animals too afraid to say anything in the first place!.
Ignorance: the point of Boxer was to represent the 'ignorant working class'!.

Mostly propaganda, though!. The pigs tell the animals over and over again that their lives are better than before the revolution!. And, remember, the book is happening over a couple of years, so some of the older animals that were alive before the revolution would have died by the end of the book!. So, ofcourse, the younger animals had no idea what it was like before the revolution, so they just accept the idea that their lives are better!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

the other animals thought that they were being taken care of!.the pigs were trying to paint them a picture that they were all safe and the pigs were only out to help them!. squealer also used a lot of propoganda to try and conving the animals that the pigs were trying to make animal farm the best it could be!. also, after napolean killed some of the animals, they were probably afraid!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

the pigs brainwashed the other animals into thinking that the pigs are better than them and are trying to help them!. They lie and say whatever makes them look like good guys!. Most of the animals are stupid and fall for it!. Some can remember the first rules on the barn before they were changed but are manipulated into thinking they are wrong!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i suppose some people (or animals) are born to be lead and some are born to lead and i think this is what orwell was trying to say in the book!. ie some are followers!.!.!.we cant all be leaders and i think the other animals were glad that the pigs were leading, perhaps they were scared of the reprucsssions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
