The only way in which it would be similar to Twilight would be a love theme!. However ( i feel) The Host has deeper themes than Twilight and that the plot is a bit more complicated and substantial than the Twilight series!. Now this is only a very general plot outline, so there won't be many details!. if you want those you have to read it yourself!.

Plot Outline: *Major Spoilers*
First you have to know that souls live for technically forever if they change hosts!. There are other planets with life in THE HOST and the main character, Wanderer, is famous among her kind for having been on the most and starting out on the planet of Origin!.

Wanderer (a ribbon like alien called a soul) has been placed in her Human host (Melanie Strider) so she can extract information on where the last of the humans are!. The problem is that Melanie isn't totally gone from the mind so Wanderer can hear her thoughts and feelings like how much she misses her boyfriend Jared and eventually that Melaine has a brother!. A seeker (a soul that tries to find the last humans and eradicate them) is determined to find the last humans Melanie had contact with and keeps harrassing Wanderer to extract the information!. Wanderer (to go speak with a healer ((doctor)) ) travels to a city with the Seeker following by plane, but then decides to follow a map of lines from Melaine's Uncle Jeb that Melaine had pulled out of her memory earlier!. They get lost in the desert for a couple of days and almost die!. Melanie's uncle finds them and brings Wanderer back to the hideout despite everyone else wanting to kill Wanderer especially Jared!. A portion of the book is Wanderer (later nicknamed Wanda) being scared that everyone s trying to kill her while eventually fitting in by telling the people who dwell in the hideout stories from her past lives on other planets!. Jared won't accept Wanda though even when Melaine's brother Jamie and Jeb have!. Eventually he comes to realize that Melaine is still alive in Wanda and thus begins a whole co-plot with both Wanda and Melanie loving Jared while this other guy Ian loves Wanda with Wanda loving him but not being able to really love him because Melaine's feelings for Jared are still strong within her emotions!. The last portion of the book has Wanda stealing medical supplies from the souls to help save jamie who had contracted something from a stab wound!. Wanda decides that it's not right for souls to take over bodies and wants the doctor of the hideout to take her out of Melaine's body and let her die since they have found out that if a person is still "alive" inside with the soul they can take the soul out of the host and bring back the human!. (they found this out by capturing the Seeker that had been with Wanda at the beginning of the novel) Doc agrees to do it, however (with protests from Melanie, Ian, Jamie, Jeb and everyone who previously hated Wanda) they find Wanda a new host that had no one alive inside!. Wanda is then free to love Ian and not Jared!. The novel ends with those in the hideout finding out they are not the last humans, nor are they the only human colonies with a soul ally!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's nothing like twilight but at the same time it's just like it!. You just have to read it!. It's about aliens ( or well another species and worlds) rather than vampires and werewolves, but it has that same *choosing between good and bad and two different guys* thing that twilight has!.
In my opinion it's just as good if not better than twilight!. ( dont get me wrong i LOVVEEE twilight) im 100% jacob and in the host im 100% Ian!. Just read it! it's amazing ok summary without spoiling it-

This alien chick gets assigned to different bodies and she gets assigned to a girl who she cant seem to control!. The girl can still think and so they share thoughts and it makes her want the ppl the girl wants and stuff!. It's hard to explain!. In a way they both fall in love with someone and they have similar goals and the alien just wants to stop hurting ppl and taking over them!. She wants to find a way out to be with who she loves!. Its a very intense beautiful captivating story!.

JUST READ IT! lol it's amazing and u wont regret it!. It might seem weird for like 1 chapter but u get really into it!. trust meWww@QuestionHome@Com

Nope!. Nothing really like Twilight!.


The Host is about a world where "aliens" invade Earth!. Capture "wild humans", and cut the back of there necks, and insert a "soul" (alien)!.

At first, the human mind is still there as the new "host" invades the body!. And the "human" si strong and will not fade away!. But that rarely ever happens!.

Melanie Stryder will not fade away, she will not disappear just because some alien invaded her body!. (she was caught by alien people)

but when Wanderer, the Host, ponders through Melanies memories, thye both yurn (spelled wrong!?) for the one man Melanie loves, and Melanies little brother, Jamie!. A strange kind of friendship bonds between the two girls!.

Its actually complicated to explain!. Lol!. But its an AMAZING book!. I highly recommend!. I say, read the first 100 pages, and then it gets REALLY good!.

The Host is about Souls taking over the world, but one Soul can not let the mind of the girl whose body she is in go!. Basically two people in one!. It's the most amazing thing I have read, I even think it is better than the Twilight series (I know crazy right)Www@QuestionHome@Com
