Isabel Allende is one of my favorite authors! I adored reading Eva Luna and I first read it when I was in high school (many years ago for me as well)!. The first paragraph of the book just grabbed me and from then on, I was hooked!. If you enjoyed DofF then I'm positive that you will enjoy this book as well!.

Daughter of Fortune was wonderful, wasn't it!? I didn't want the book to end! It's sequel Portrait in Sepia is not to be missed as well!.

I'm attempting to re-read Paula now!. When I first read it (also while in hs), I thought it was a very sad, difficult book that dealt with a very hard period in Isabel's life - the illness of her daughter and I never finished it!. Now, as a mother-to-be, I am looking at the book through a new set of eyes and I can appreciate her very personal journey through motherhood and caring for her daughter!.

I'm proud to say that I was a fan of Isabel before Oprah "discovered" her and made the book Daughter of Fortune, a member of the famous book club!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
