Question: What does the story a rose for Emily by William Faulker is about!?

If Faulkner had written the story in chronological order, it would be relatively easy to figure out!. Emily was a southern aristocrat, perhaps not the highest, but pretty high!. Her family no longer had money!. Homer Barron began to court her!. He was a working class northerner and he apparently was going to jilt her so she poisoned him with arsenic and slept beside him for several years after his death!. The people in the town where she lived would have been able to figure out what was happening, but (probably because she was an aristocrat) they let her get away with it!. The people of the town are complicit in the crime, but what a great story!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
