Don't worry!. I would NEVER suggest "Twilight!." I can suggest that you try Diane Duane's "So You Want to be a Wizard" series!. There's at least 7 or 8 of them now!. Do try to read them in order, because there is both story and character progression!.

There's another series I really like, it has fantasy and some wonderful humor (including a talking cat named Austin, who is wonderful, and sometimes wonderfully obnoxious), including mythic references and Hole into Hell that talks to itself, in the first book!. It's the Keeper's Chronicles series by Tanya Huff!. The first one is called Summon the Keeper, the second is The Second Summoning, and the third is The Long Hot Summoning!. (We keep hoping there will be more!.) I picked up the first one with no idea what it would be like, it looked a bit like it might be horror of some sort, but I had read other Tanya Huff books and liked them!. I ended up reading the book aloud to my husband during a long car trip (he likes to be read to, I like to read out loud)!. This was good and bad!. Good because the book turned out to be very enjoyable!. Bad because your eyes get ahead of your mouth and several times I would read something and start laughing before I actually read it aloud!. =)

Anyway, there is a serious story underlying the Keeper books, but they are still a lot of fun!. (I can also recommend her Blood Books series, which although there is a vampire in the books, he's not really a main character and the books are not at all like what I understand about Twilight!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can try books like Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the Inheritance trilogy, House of Night, Artemis Fowl, The Gemma Doyle trilogy, Blue Bloods, The Uglies, or the Morganville Vampires!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Eragon: by Christopher Paloni (If you like it then you could read the next one in the series, Eldest, then the third one, Brisingr)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
