Question: What is this book called, I remember a quote!.!?
I remember it was the very first or second sentences in a book!. The book was called "The great" something!. I can't remember the last word of the name

The quote was along the lines of:
"when I was still young , my father told me that when I grew up and criticized someone, that I should remember that they have not had the same luxuries that I did!."

I'm sure I messed up that quote a lot but if you've read the book that has to sound familiar!.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
This is definitely The Great Gatsby by F!. Scott Fitzgerald!.
I just finished reading it at school!. I loved reading and analyzing it!.
:)

The starts begins:
In my younger and more vulnerable years my father fave me some advice that I've been turning over in my mind ever since!.
"Whenever you feel like criticizing any one," he told me, "just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had!."

You are thinking of The Great Gatsby!. I think the quote you're referring to was written by the narrator, Nick Carraway:

"Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone, just remember that all the people in this world haven’t had the advantages that you’ve had!."
