Life's a Dance
Life's a dance – partners in chance!.

One can’t go far, need one to spar!.

How quite the day,

with none to play!.

I step forth,

wait your response!.

Hope with speed,

you follow my lead!.

What moves me most,

your thoughts - my ghost !

I have been reading poems by Ted Elden!. He makes really good poetry I think!. Its taking time to learn all he has written!.

Mine is Parfum exotique from Charles Baudelaire, which you can read the translation below!.

I love the warm feeling reading this poem creates in me!. The sensation of rest and softness!.
Charles Baudelaire has had such an amazing life which is worth reading and which make you understand his work!.

His poems are full of sensuality, sadness, spleen !.
You can find its translations on http://fleursdumal!.org/poem/120

Exotic Perfume

When I, with eyes shut, on warm autumn eves,
The fragrance of your warmer breast respire,
I see a country bathed in solar fire
Whose happy shores its lustre never leaves;

An isle of indolence, where nature raises
Singular trees and fruits both sweet and tender,
Where men have bodies vigorous and slender
And women's eyes a candour that amazes!.

Led by your scent to fairer climes at last,
I see a port of sails, where every mast
Seems weary of the labours of its cruise;

While scents of tamarind, blown here and there,
Swelling my nostrils as they rinse the air,
Are mingled with the chanties of the crews!.

Well, it's not very deep, but I think it's adorable!.

I Cannot Go to School Today

I Cannot Go to School Today
By Shell Silverstein

"I cannot go to school today"
Said little Peggy Ann McKay!.
"I have the measles and the mumps,
A gash, a rash and purple bumps!.

My mouth is wet, my throat is dry!.
I'm going blind in my right eye!.
My tonsils are as big as rocks,
I've counted sixteen chicken pox!.

And there's one more - that's seventeen,
And don't you think my face looks green!?
My leg is cut, my eyes are blue,
It might be the instamatic flu!.

I cough and sneeze and gasp and choke,
I'm sure that my left leg is broke!.
My hip hurts when I move my chin,
My belly button's caving in!.

My back is wrenched, my ankle's sprained,
My 'pendix pains each time it rains!.
My toes are cold, my toes are numb,

I have a sliver in my thumb!.

My neck is stiff, my voice is weak,
I hardly whisper when I speak!.
My tongue is filling up my mouth,

I think my hair is falling out!.

My elbow's bent, my spine ain't straight,
My temperature is one-o-eight!.
My brain is shrunk, I cannot hear,

There's a hole inside my ear!.

I have a hangnail, and my heart is !.!.!.
What!? What's that!? What's that you say!?
You say today is !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. Saturday!?

G'bye, I'm going out to play!"

To the answerer who said Shel Silverstein: I love his poems! Especially "Peanut Butter Sandwich" http://holyjoe!.net/poetry/shel5!.htm !. My 2nd and 3rd grade teachers read all of his poems to us, and this is the one that made me laugh the most!. I love peanut butter sandwiches!.

Edit: In middle school we had an English project where we had to write a poem that would go on our gravestones!. Mine was a really long-winded epic tragedy of how I died (I think I was abducted by aliens and beaten with a giant salami)!. But one of my friends wrote a really funny limerick that I still have memorized!.

Last year, my younger sister wrote a poem I loved called "And Then I Blinked" about a mother watching her daughter grow up!. It was really good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
