NaNoWriMo is about word count, not quality of writing!.
Many use this philanthropic outlet to actually set up a story to be further worked on at a later date; many more simply type as many short pieces together as they can within the month of November, with some small thread of continuity!.

Either way, telling a story, whether they are several arriving as you type or one you work on before-hand (outlines, character sketches and more) is less relevant than making the word-count by the deadline!.!.!.without simply typing ala Jack Ryan: 'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy' over and over and over again!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think for the NaNoWriMo you just need to commit to writing everyday and try to average 5!.5 to 6 pages daily!.

You can outline before--and I would!. I'd make a list of characters, and write out their individual "stories!." I'd also outline the chapters you think you would like to write!.

But the NaNoWriMo is not about quality--it's about word count and getting the writing done!. So I would press on each day, and worry about cleaning up the manuscript later!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The key is to set a daily writing goal, and keep it!. You can make an outline (before tomorrow) or!.!.!.here's what I did: I made 30 note cards!. On each card is a goal for the day!. Mainly it comprises a chapter or event in my manuscript!.

The trick is: I have to complete that goal on the day that I have proscribed it!. Will it work!. Ask me in December and I'll tell you if I have a good rough draft!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You just write!. You either pre-plan(outline) or make it all up as you go along!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
