Well, poorly written in some ways and well-written in other ways!. All in all, I think that Stephanie Meyer should go to a Twilight Hater forum and find out what she needs to improve, because this whole "Twilight loving community" is totally not helping her!.

Twilight might have been a better book if only she made it more realistic, acknowledging real myths without crossing the line a bit too much just like HP!. Plus, how can a vampire have godly scented breath when they drink BLOOD!?

You're going to be getting answers from a lot of TwiFans who will be ranting at you, telling you that you are wrong!. The reasons they give!? "twilight is da bast book evr!!!1" and "edward cullen is soooo HAWT!" I find it very interesting that the TwiHaters actually utilize proper grammar and conventions when answering questions!.As for the the TwiFans, well, you've seen their answers!. (Sorry for any TwiFans who do, just a generalization!)

Edit: Someone asked for examples!. So I thought I would provide you with a few!. For starters, it has tons of purple prose!. And Meyer has a habit of using the same adjectives over and over again!. The whole entire series, Meyer describes Edward's body as "cool", "white", and "marble"!. It becomes a pain after hearing Bella repeat these same words!. She doesn't need to describe him that much! Bella is a Mary Sue character, she gets what she wants and is perfect!. I could go on, but I'll stop for now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I totally agree!. I've never read the books in their entirety but this summer my friend read them on the bus every day and I would read over her shoulder!. They are really terribly written, they sound like they're written for very young children! Not that being badly written is always a terrible thing, I personally don't think Harry Potter is written that well, but I think a good plot can make up for mediocre writing!. Unfortunately, from what I can gather, Twilight lacks both!.

Definitely!. You want examples, MavistheMaven!? The whole thing is an example of extremely immature purple prose - I was writing in that sort of style when I was about thirteen!. The only thing we ever hear about in detail is how gorgeous Edward is - and by god, do we hear about it in detail!. Every other page goes on about his scintillating arms or his magnificent sculpted chest!. The characters are given no depth beyond their looks - I doubt Meyer could give a more detailed character profile for Bella than a description of what she looks like (i!.e!. like Meyer herself) and the fact that she's clumsy and reads classic books!. Words are overused (chagrin, grimace, amble) and even incorrectly used - if you were nervous about someone's reaction to something, you wouldn't be ambling anywhere!. There is barely any plot, and what little plot there is has no build up, it's just suddenly shoved in!. The whole thing is riddled with plot holes and is very poorly researched!. I do not agree that its poorly written but it something written and intended for a young teenage audience!. Someone reading at a more mature level will find it somewhat simplistic and lacking!. I found it an interesting story and I enjoyed reading it (till the 4th book anyhow) but it is not something written on my regular reading level and I found it to have been written to a formula!.(predictable)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nope!. I'd like some of the people who think it is poorly written to give detailed reasons with examples!. I don't think it's highbrow literature, I know it has a few flaws, but overall, it's quite well written!. I have yet to see any dissenters make good points as to why it's not!. In a way, I agree that it was poorly written!. Saying this, I mean that there is too little substance to the number of pages and that the story could have been condensed!. I, however, absolutely love the plot and the characters!. I am still a fan of Twilight!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
