Try the books of Matthew Reilly, such as Ice Station or Seven Deadly Wonders!. also try the Hover Car Racer books if you can find them!. Page for page, these books have the most action and adventure of any book I have read!. They shouldn't be too difficult to read, and there are a few more follow up books to these!.
