And you can add horror by adding suspense to the story!. Maybe something is chasing after the character as in stalking, or waiting to kill him/her!?

If you have one main character, make readers aware of the danger he is in!. Try killing some other characters and leave your main one!. This will add suspense!.

Make it seem like the antagonist is realistic!. Describe him in ways that he's scary and that will stay in the reader's mind for a long time!.

The setting can be somewhere scary and alone!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Imagine your parents have no equity in their home, they have a subprime mortgage (loan) that's going to adjust soon that will triple their monthly payments!. Because of the economy one of them will lose their jobs and it will leave your family with no health insurance!. Someone in the family gets sick after you lose your house and you can't afford the medicine to get them healthy again!. What's left of your family is living in a 12 foot storm pipe in a wash a few miles from your home!.
