Have they read "Harry Potter"!?

What about the "Discworld" series by Terry Pratchett!?

Or "The Spiderwyck Chronicles"!.

"Eragon" is supposed to be good (even if the movie was poorly done)!.

I've heard good things about "A wrinkle in time" too!.

You might also check out some Roald Dahl, "The Witches"!.

And don't forget some of the good old classics, like the "Hobbit"!.

And if they like some comedy too then try Douglas Adams', "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" series!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The spooks apprentice is great, my little cousin loved it and he is eight, though it is slightly spooky! Great for boys who dont get afraid of things easily, though it isnt very scary, but boys will love it!. There is a series, and i read them and loved them aswell!. hope this helped!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The boy in the stripped pyjamas is an excellent book but maybe just for the older one!. Personally I think it should be required reading in schools!.
Try Terry Pratchett's children's books, He has a wonderful sense of humour and creates lovable characters Www@QuestionHome@Com
