Question: I have made myself a reading log, I need help with some good books!?
One of the reasons why I made a reading log is to get me to read more!.
I never did like to read when I was younger!. But I felt that if I pushed myself to read more than I would!. Any one recommend any books!.

Not Harry Potter or Twilight Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think it's great you have a reading log!. I wish I'd done it years ago!. Be sure to write a short synopsis of each book for easier recall!. You may want to write down a significant phrase or quote!.

After I went into my sitting room which doubles as a library I came back to see your additional details!. Those aren't books I would typically choose for a teen, but I suspect your reading level is above average!. I think you should at least look @ these!.

--How Doctors Think by Dr!. Jerome Groopman!. It's a fast read, humorous, & will help you take control when you get sick & need to explain symptoms or get pushed aside by the dr!. when he talks only to your mom!. (Obviously non-fiction)!.

--Please Stop Laughing At Me by Jodee Blanco (non-fiction/inspirational)!. A girl is bullied all through life!. Great for teens to read!. If not a victim yourself perhaps be able to stop it @ your school!.

--Sold by Patricia McCormick (novel)!. Fast read!. Story of 13-yr!. old sold into prostitution by stepfather!. No graphic sexual descriptions!.

--Corelli's Mandolin by Louis de Bernieres (historical fiction)!. The Italian Army takes over a small Greek village & how the 2 groups come to terms w/ each other!. A movie w/ Nicholas Cage was made from this book, but trust me, the book is way better!.

--The Red Tent by Anita Diamant (historical fiction)!. Tells the trials & traditions of ancient women (Biblical era--highly recommend)!.

--98 Reasons For Being by Clare Dudman (fiction)!. In 1852 a young girl is admitted to a psychiatric institution for being mute!. The Director tries to help her, but finds himself drawn to her & tells her his thoughts & revelations!. Intriguing book!.

--Wisdom's Daughter by India Edghill (historical fiction)!. Tells the story of King Solomon & Queen of Sheba!. Hard to put down!.

I recently read a new one called "The Spellman Files" --don't let the name fool you! it has nothing to do with magic!. I enjoyed it very much and so did my mum!. i can't remember who it was authored by but the writer of The Devil Wears Prada liked it very much too :p

sometimes it's just a good idea to go down to the library and spend some decent time going through and reading the backs of books!. It can be hard to suggest a book you will enjoy when we're not you!

happy reading! it is one of the world's greatest pleasures and I hope it becomes so for you :)

what type of books are you interested in or have you enjoyed previously!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm an avid reader, so I tend to read things in series rather than single books!. Anywho, here's my list of suggestions!.

The Mercedes Thompson series by Patricia Briggs
The Harper Hall Trilogy, by Anne McCaffery
The Sevenwaters Trilogy by Juliet Marillier
The Dark Elf Trilogy by R!.A!. Salvatore
The Witch of Blackbird Pond (light read, historical fiction)
The Crystal Cave by Mary Stewart (first of The Arthurian Legend)
The Belgariad by David Eddings (follow that up with Polgara the Sorceress)

I hope this isn't overwhelming, since you're trying to get back into the reading saddle!. I'll add more as I remember them!. ^_^Www@QuestionHome@Com
