Question: What is the genre for "Heart of Darkness"!?
My teacher is shoving some more African literature down our throats!. I just need some help figuring out what genre it's supposed to be in!. Don't tell me to read the book, it's no help at all, unless it's point is to make my brain melt from pure boredom!.

Thank you to anyone who has suffered through this before me and actually gotten something out of it!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

"Heart of Darkness" is not African literature!.!.!. it might be set in Africa, but it's written by a Polish man!.

i would tell you the genre, but your question kinda pisses me off!. And I wasn't going to tell you to read it, but if it offends you so much to have people just recommend that you should do your work, you're not the kind of student i like helping!. but you know, you probably would not even be able to tell the genre of the book even if you read it!. It's almost a proto-psychological thriller ( without the thrill, I suppose)!. It's not everyone's cup of tea, I sympathise!. But it's not african literature!. If you want an African opinion read Achebe's critique "An Image of Africa"!. The paper is below!. It's shorter and if you spin it right you might score a killer grade!.That and Cliff Notes!. Never fails!

Good luck!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
