Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
I'm assuming you mean "horror," not "honor!."

It's both!. It's a suspense story in that you have no idea what the lottery is for until the very end - Jackson gives you clues, but she keeps you in suspense!.

It's a horror story because the clues also create a spooky, creepy atmosphere (why are those kids piling up stones!? why have some towns stopped doing the lottery!? why is she screaming!?), and ends with a truly horrific scene - the people of the town, even children, mercilessly sacrificing an innocent woman to fulfill their own superstitious tradition!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think it's suspence!. You don't know what's going to happen at first, then you begin to suspect it's something bad these suspisions are confirmed when a girls says "I hope it's not nancy" then someone is chosen and all you need to find out is their fate! That's more dran out than a horror story would be!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I suspect the question you are seeking the answer to is "Is the story "The Lottery" a horror story or a suspense story or both!?"

Otherwise, I don't know what you mean by an "honor" story!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
