For older books (published before 1923) start with:

http://www!.gutenberg!.org (they have over 25,000 e-books all for free)
http://manybooks!.net
http://www!.munseys!.com
http://www!.webliterature!.net

Then do a search for "free e-books" and you will find many more links!.

Newer books are still under copyright, so you will have a much harder time finding free e-book editions!.

Go to Google books, it's great! Some books will only give you the title, but many allow you to read all the way through!. It's very helpful for research papers and such as well, because you can look up books and even search them with your computer, rather than making a trip to the library!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I prefer WebLiterature!.Net - it hosts only classic books, and nothing else, which means good focus!. And free of course!.
