Get the latest edition of Writer's Marketplace -- if you write stories, it lists names of magazines for different genres as well as the person to direct it to, and their submission guidelines (always read a copy of the mag first to make sure it's the right one for your stuff)!. If you've got a book, your best bet is to approach many agents (also listed in that book) -- again be sure and visit their website and check out their submission guidelines to make sure you're approaching them in the right fashion!. If you're interested in self-publishing, that's a growing business as well, but not one to turn to until you've received feedback from agents!.
